These scarecrows are part of an annual fall fund raiser on Guemes Island. After being built, all the scarecrows are displayed at Andersons Feed and Grain (the local Store) for the month of October, until Halloween. Then they are auctioned off for charity.
2003 - 1st Annual Scarecrow Art Show The worthy cause this year was a new bathroom facility for the Guemes Island Community Hall. Round River Studio made and donated three scarecrows in 2003, totaling over $275.00 in gained funds for the Hall. 2004 - 2nd Annual Scarecrow & Garden Art Show The Guemes Island Historical Society show of outdoor art was held October 16-30, 2004 on the front lawn of Anderson's Store near the ferry dock. This year, it included outdoor objects and artifacts suitable for gardens and patios, in addition to the scarecrows for the bidding auction. ![]() |
